Finals--Game Three
August 5, 2010
After the first two games of the BCJALL finals between the Adanacs and Salmonbellies played out it appeared home floor advantage was to be prevalent in the series, and the end result of game three on Wednesday night back in Coquitlam just solidified the fact.

Coquitlam Adanacs Robbie Campbell plays some tough defense by checking the Bellie forward in hopes of causing a loose ball.

Coquitlam Adanac's Dan Lewis makes the sliding save fast enough to get an arm pad on the ball. Lewis played the entire 60 minutes.

Just like game one on the same floor the game had a relatively even feeling for the first two periods as the teams played to a two goal draw after one period, and again found themselves tied up after both sides scored four goals in the middle frame as well.

Coquitlam opened up scoring in the third with Mark Matthews scoring the go ahead goal shorthanded while Robbie Campbell was in the box for crease play. Following the goal the A's did a great job to control the ball killing the rest of the penalty, and followed up with a couple more goals to go ahead by three, which was the largest goal margin in the game so far. Realizing time was slipping away from them and playing from behind, the 'Bellies staged a bit of a comeback within the last ten minutes scoring two back-to-back power play goals, but Coquitlam kept pressing and despite being outshot by four from the visitors in the last twenty minutes the A's outscored New West 5-2 in the final period. The final score would end 11-8 and give the A's the game advantage in the series as it heads back to Queens Park on Friday night.

New west's Cody Bremner manages to get off the pass over Adanac player Kevin Neufeld. Bremner finishes with one goal and one assist on the night.

Jay Card of New West tries to help out his tendor Brandon Mulligan as Adanac Travis Cornwall gets an open shot on net.

In a game that was so even for so long, New West will surely be a little disappointed at the final result but in the end goaltending was the key and Dan Lewis outplayed Brandon Mulligan in the final period. An impressive statistic for New West was the fact they shut down all of Coquitlam's power play opportunities in the whole sixty minutes (but did allow a short-handed goal in the third), and at the same time took advantage of their time with the man advantage, scoring five power play goals against the A's who have an impressive PK. Coquitlam had an abnormal night regarding penalties, as a team who is usually the most disciplined they had 12 overall, the majority coming in the third with nine minors called against them in the final period. In the end the A's had the victory which makes their penalty trouble inconsequential; they managed to hold onto their game when it was most important, making for a great win.

Some young fans look on as they watch Alex Lohr of New West reaching over to put one by Dan Lewis of Coquitlam in what was Lewis' first start of the finals.

Clay Miller of the Coquitlam defense tries to out run the New West forward on his way down the floor.

Scoring for the A's was well dispersed as Mark Matthews, Robbie Campbell, Riley Loewen, Robert Church, Wesley Berg, and Ben McIntosh all had three points in the winning effort on Wednesday. New West's scoring was more concentrated with Jay Card and Brandon Goodwin having six points each, followed by Colton Clark who is having an impressive series against the A's with one goal and four helpers on Wednesday night.
