They may have had a delayed start to the season as the finishing touches to the brand new Coquitlam Sports Center were wrapped up, but now the Adanacs are playing catch-up to the rest of the league and this week played back to back home games against Delta on Tuesday and Langley on Wednesday.
After defeating the Burnaby Lakers 10-6 on Saturday night Delta was hoping to carry over the momentum against the A’s who stand undefeated so far this season. The Islanders still had some left in the tank and not only managed to draw first blood with Mike Mallory beating Chris Seidel, but at the end of the period had a sizable 5-1 lead.
Whatever was said in the Coquitlam dressing room during the break to get them back on track worked like a charm, as the Adanacs burst into the second in an all out assault. Twenty five shots and nine goals pretty much ended the game in one period as Coquitlam took what was working for them and ran with it. The A’s took up most of the possession time in the period it was hard for Delta to gain any offensive opportunities; even scoring two goals the Islanders only managed to test A’s goalie Dan Lewis ten times in the period. Nine is now the new record to beat in the BCJALL (for 2010) for goals scored in one period; and Adanacs Ryan Johnson and Brandon Bertoia each laid down four points in the second frame alone.

Mike Mallory of Delta shows why he leads the team in points with his six point night including four goals. |

Delta's Blake Duncan came up with 37 saves on the night but gets beat here by Coquitlam Adanac's Tom Seeman. |

Mallory would score in each period for Delta and teammate Mike Berekoff would be the setup man with four assists on the night, but the onslaught in the second period was enough for the A’s to take the game by a final score of 11-9.
Wednesday night would see the Langley Thunder roll into Coquitlam to try and take advantage of the fact the A’s played just twenty four hours earlier. As far as starts were concerned Coquitlam did not make the same mistake as the night previous and let their opponent jump ahead, as Travis Cornwall opened up scoring on the power play after Colton Porter got called for cross checking just three minutes into the game. The scales would tip in the A’s favour as the period went on and at the first break they had a 4-1 lead over the Thunder to work with, as well as outshooting them 19-5.

| Leading in points for Coquitlam, Brandon Bertoia takes a shot on net adding another 2 goals and 3 assists on the night. |

Adanac Head Coach Curt Malawsky had a tough night with his goalies but managed to bring Coquitlam back from an early 5-1 deficit. |
It was much of the same in the second period with Coquitlam managing five more goals, and playing a more disciplined style only being called for two penalties in the second compared to four in the first. Reegan Comeault would score on one of the two power play opportunities, as well as putting in the other Langley goal of the period. With his six point night (3 goals, 3 assists) Comeault moves one point clear of Nanaimo’s Cody Bremner for top spot in the BCJALL scoring race with 42 total points. The Thunder would make a goalie change towards the end of the second period as Keenan Lambright would replace Graham Chandler after eight goals against, but Coquitlam was on enough of a roll the goalie change didn’t make much difference in the eventual outcome of the game.
Two more goals from Cornwall to complete his hat trick on the night, and one each from Ryan Johnson and Tor Reinholdt would clear the final score at 13-7 for the home squad; giving them their sixth win of the season, good for first place overall with twelve points. Another Adanacs player with an impressive overall performance in these two games was Matthew Dinsdale who not only dominated in the faceoff circle winning 34 and losing only 11, but managed eleven points altogether (3 goals, 8 assists).
